After reading this article, many with nostalgia will remember technical the adaptations of the past, and the Z generation will plunge into the world of rarities.
So.
1. Coin for fare.
In Soviet Leningrad, tickets for public transport could be purchased in the transport itself, and by self-service. The State trusted its citizens so much that the vending machine was in a public transport salon
It was necessary to put 3.4 or 5 kopecks in the machine and to wrap the ticket. [1]
Some vehicles were not equipped with such a device, then a ticket had to be available to pay for travel (it could be bought at the Union Seal kiosks or even from the driver).
2. Compost.
When you walked into the cabin, you had to puncture that ticket. According to Wikipedia, “Compo Stern (from fr. Composteur) is a device designed to extinguish coupons (tickets) of passenger vehicles. Invented in the 19th century by Jan Józef Baranowski The compost probes or squeezes out the conditional control marks[2], prints the code (usually date and time as well as the station code)”. The puncture process is called composting.
On each route, a certain drawing was drawn on the ticket. [3]
3. Automatic reference installation
Railway stations in Leningrad served thousands of passengers travelling to all regions of the country, and the train and train schedules were quite voluminous. In the absence of the Internet, it was possible to learn about the departure and arrival of trains at ticket offices and at the station itself. This is what the mechanical schedule looked like. You have to select the station and the automaton starts to look through the pages, stopping in the chosen direction. You could see the travel schedule and fare on the page.
4. Automatic storage
There was no direct connection between many settlements, and there were connections. But I was able to walk around the city, leaving the heavy stuff in the automatic storage unit.
You could leave things for 24 hours, for only 15 kopecks, by typing in a four-digit code.
5. Taxi meter
A mechanical meter was installed in the Soviet taxi - a taximeter. When new passengers were boarding, the driver had to reset the previous reading. The taximeter immediately set the landing fee and each kilometre of the route, in a dimensional ticking, updated the cost of the trip.[6]

All these technical devices, which once made life more comfortable, have now become rarities. Modern electronic gadgets have come in to replace them.

Итак.
1. Монетная касса для оплаты проезда.
В Советском Ленинграде билеты для проезда в общественном транспорте можно было приобрести в самом транспорте, причем методом самообслуживания. Государство настолько доверяло свои гражданам, что автомат для продажи билетов находился в салоне. [1]
В аппарат необходимо было опустить 3,4 или 5 копеек и отмотать себе билетик.
Некоторые транспортные средства не были оборудованы таким устройством, тогда для оплаты проезда нужно было иметь билет (купить его можно было в киосках Союзпечати или даже у водителя).
2. Компостер.
При входе в салон такой билет нужно было прокомпостировать. По материалам Википедии «Компо́стер (от фр. composteur, нем. komposter) — устройство, предназначенное для гашения талонов (билетов) пассажирских транспортных средств. Изобретён в XIX веке Яном Юзефом Барановским. Компостер пробивает или выдавливает условные знаки контроля [2], печатает код (обычно дату и время, а также код станции)." Процесс пробивания называется компостированием.
На каждом маршруте на билете выбивался определенный рисунок из дырочек. [3]
3. Автоматическая справочная установка
Вокзалы в Ленинграде обслуживали тысячи пассажиров, отправляющихся во все регионы страны, расписание поездов и электричек было довольно объемным. В отсутствии Интернета, узнать об отправлении и прибытии поездов можно было в билетных кассах и на самом вокзале. Вот так выглядело механическое расписание поездов. [4], [5]
Нужно выбрать нужную станцию и автомат начинает листать страницы, останавливаясь на выбранном направлении. На выпавшей странице можно было увидеть расписание и стоимость проезда. Такие автоматические установки были и на речных, и на автобусных вокзалах. [7]
4. Автоматическая камера хранения
Между многими населенными пунктами не было прямого сообщения, приходилось ехать с пересадками. Зато была возможность прогуляться по городу, оставив тяжелые вещи в автоматической камере хранения.
Вещи можно было оставлять на 24 часа, всего за 15 копеек, набрав четырехзначный код.
5. Счетчик такси
В Советских такси был установлен механический счетчик – таксометр. При посадке новых пассажиров водитель должен был сбросить предыдущие показания. Таксометр сразу устанавливал плату за посадку и каждый километр пути, мерно тикая, обновлял стоимость поездки. [6]
Все эти технические устройства, когда-то сделавшие жизнь удобнее, сейчас стали раритетами. На замену пришли современные электронные гаджеты.
