One of the main principles of avant-garde poetry is the expansion of the semantic horizon of a word, the semantic “saturation” of a single word (Raker 1979). Khlebnikov has repeatedly acknowledged in plain text that he strives for a semantic "condensation", which in his case often takes the form of a kind of "double exposure" - when one word contains two or more meanings.
The everyday meaning of the word hides not just one secret meaning, but all their diversity (all its other meanings <...> are all the stars of the starry night). The meanings are likened to celestial bodies, and the task of the celestial scientist (poet) is to “unlock” the universe - to discover the stars hidden by the “all-consuming” daylight. Everyday meaning is only one of the possible, and to be satisfied with it means to accept a geocentric picture of the world. That is, Khlebnikov again defends the possibility of a polysemantic use of the word in order to revive its potential meanings and overcome the monophony of literalism.
This striving for polyphony and semantically rich constructions, apparently, is due to a number of compositional features of Khlebnikov's poetry.[2]

НАША ОСНОВА В. Хлебников
Одним из главных принципов авангардистской поэзии считается расширение семантического горизонта слова, семантическое “насыщение” отдельного слова (Raker 1979). Хлебников неоднократно признавал открытым текстом, что стремится к семантическому “сгущению”, которое в его случае часто принимает форму своего рода “двойной экспозиции” — когда одно слово содержит два смысла или более.
Повседневный смысл слова скрывает не просто какое-то одно тайное значение, но всё их многообразие (все остальные его значения ‹...› все светила звездной ночи). Смыслы уподоблены небесным телам, и задача небоведа (поэта) состоит в том, чтобы “отпереть” вселенную — обнаружить звезды, скрытые “всепоглощающим” дневным светом. Бытовой смысл — лишь один из возможных, и удовлетвориться им означает принять геоцентрическую картину мира. То есть, Хлебников снова отстаивает возможности полисемантического использования слова, чтобы таким образом оживлять его потенциальные значения и преодолевать одноголосие буквализма.
Подобным стремлением к многоголосию и семантически насыщенным конструкциям, видимо, и обусловлен ряд композиционных особенностей поэзии Хлебникова. [3]
